🔥 ChatGPT Tips Tuesday #2: Oops, my bad!

💡 ChatGPT Tips for the day

ChatGPT works great when used to correct or debug its own answers if there is a problem. Try to paste the error or issue you see back to the same chat and ask for an updated answer.

ChatGPT is not only good at creating answers, but it also works wonders in updating its answer based on newer information.

So far, I have seen primarily use cases within the realm of coding or creating syntax where you could see a clear indication of error. Such an error can then be pasted back to the chat which allows you to get an updated answer if asked.

Let’s start with a not-so-mathematically-correct example:

Disclaimer: Your wife is always right.

Now, let’s look at how it should work in a real example, presented by none other than Greg Brockman, President and Co-Founder of OpenAI. This video is part of the GPT4 announcement where Mr.Brockman showed the case of co-creating a Discord bot with GPT4 (within the playground interface). It is a bit code heavy in this video but you should get the concept quite clearly from his demonstration.

The actual segment should start at 6:23 of the following video.

Try this in your next prompt

I would suggest you do the following in your prompt

I have received the following error while using the [answer or code]. Please provide an updated [answer or code] that would fix this error.

[Paste the error you received]

🔤 Word of the day

Artificial general intelligence (AGI)

n. the ability of an intelligent agent to understand or learn any intellectual task that human beings or other animals can.

If you look across the internet, this is one of those hotly debated areas where no clear consensus has been formed yet. However, in general, the following are the tests people like to consider when deciding if an AI has reached AGI.

  • The Turing Test

A machine and a human both converse unseen with a second human, who must evaluate which of the two is the machine, which passes the test if it can fool the evaluator a significant fraction of the time. Note: Turing does not prescribe what should qualify as intelligence, only that knowing that it is a machine should disqualify it.

  • The Coffee Test

A machine is required to enter an average American home and figure out how to make coffee: find the coffee machine, find the coffee, add water, find a mug, and brew the coffee by pushing the proper buttons.

  • The Robot College Student Test

A machine enrols in a university, taking and passing the same classes that humans would, and obtaining a degree.

  • The Employment Test

A machine performs an economically important job at least as well as humans in the same job.
