💡 ChatGPT Tips for the day

Thanks to all the people who voted in the last issue. By popular demand, I am going to talk about the web browser plugin from ChatGPT.

At the moment, if you have got a ChatGPT Plus account, you can access this plugin right away.

If you have got the Plus account but still can’t see the option, you would need to set that up from Settings → Beta features.

Alright, now let’s see what it can do.

Let’s try some easy stuff first to compare what ChatGPT can provide with or without the web browsing plugin.

Without web browsing

We have got this same message from ChatGPT again regarding the cutoff. Not much of a help now.

With web browsing

Well, this is great. Just feel like searching the website for information but with the answer provided to you straight away.

Also, if you see the details above the answer, it is showing you what AI is doing, which is exactly like what a person would be doing on a page, i.e. clicking on a page and reading the content to determine the result.

Given the cut-off of the date for GPT-4 training data was September 2021, I was thinking whether the data it would provide would be always accurate for things before 2021. Hence, I tested this idea further:

Looks like GPT-4 is just able to handle such questions where precise data is needed. However, if you ask GPT-4 with the web browsing plugin, there is no issue at all 👇️ 

In conclusion, here is what I found:

• If want to understand things that happened after September 2021 via ChatGPT, you would need to use the web browsing plugin.

• For precise data about things that happened before September 2021, you would still be better off going with the web browsing plugin.

AI Embodiment

This allows the AI to learn from its environment and make decisions based on its interactions, much like a human would in the real world. It's similar to a character in a video game, moving around and interacting with the game world.
