Midjourney has a lot of fascinating parameters that you can use to generate images with finer control. In the following couple of issues, I will go through all of them. For today, I would start with the one I like the most, which is the Chaos setting, i.e. --c.

According to Midjourney’s documents, here is the explanation of Chaos:
“The --chaos or --c parameter influences how varied the initial image grids are. High --chaos values will produce more unusual and unexpected results and compositions. Lower --chaos values have more reliable, repeatable results.”

Normally, if you don’t add this parameter, the generation would assume no Chaos is set, i.e. --c 0. If you want to increase the Chaos, you can set it to be higher, i.e. --c 20 or --c 60. The highest you can set this figure is 100.

Alright, on to my favourite time, i.e. example time. Check the images I have generated below 👇️ 

As you can see, with a higher chaos setting, the variants you see are quite different. Not only the styles changed, but the position of the people and the angle of the image varied a lot as well. Hence, if you would like to explore a different range of images for the generation, be sure to try Chaos settings in your next prompt.

Aspect ratio

n. the ratio of an image’s sizes in different dimensions. For example, the aspect ratio of a rectangle is the ratio of its longer side to its shorter side—the ratio of width to height, when the rectangle is oriented as a "landscape".

If you have dealt with images before, you might have heard this term quite a lot as aspect ratio could be quite specific for different types of images.
