The camera lens setting has been a popular addition to the midjourney prompt when creating the result. I have tested a bit to see if this is still the case for midjourney v5.

To be honest, the result is a bit unexpected. 👇

Well, to the untrained eye, I can honestly tell no difference between the different settings. Maybe the lens suitable for sport or wildlife film happens to be a suitable one for portraits as well. If you do want to try it yourself, it might be good to pick some high-quality lenses via an online guide like this.

Now, if the lens is not the thing that moves the needle that much, what about a level higher, i.e. different types of cameras? For the type, I am referring to things like Polaroid, Go-pro or DSLR.

Okay, I think the style is pretty different which is what I like. It is definitely worthwhile to try some more variations compared to mine to get the one you desire. But, look at that go-pro one, it is actually pretty good to capture that go-pro feel.

An interesting find from today’s test, what is this person holding? Must be the smallest coffee cup as that is somehow totally covered by the obviously AI-created hand 🤣 However, I must say the overall atmosphere that is created here is still quite amazing.
