๐Ÿ–Œ๏ธ AI Art Tips Thursday #2: Say Cheese Please!

๐Ÿ’ก AI Art Tips for the day

Just like you would need the best camera for the photography job, setting the right camera for your prompt could also help you get the result that you most desire.

The camera lens setting has been a popular addition to the midjourney prompt when creating the result. I have tested a bit to see if this is still the case for midjourney v5.

To be honest, the result is a bit unexpected. ๐Ÿ‘‡

P.S. midjourney is still failing some hands if you check closely.

Well, to the untrained eye, I can honestly tell no difference between the different settings. Maybe the lens suitable for sport or wildlife film happens to be a suitable one for portraits as well. If you do want to try it yourself, it might be good to pick some high-quality lenses via an online guide like this.

Now, if the lens is not the thing that moves the needle that much, what about a level higher, i.e. different types of cameras? For the type, I am referring to things like Polaroid, Go-pro or DSLR.

The result is actually way better. Check it out below ๐Ÿ‘‡

P.S. are those people holding a Polaroid?

Okay, I think the style is pretty different which is what I like. It is definitely worthwhile to try some more variations compared to mine to get the one you desire. But, look at that go-pro one, it is actually pretty good to capture that go-pro feel.

Try this in your next prompt

To add the camera type, check these simple ways to do it

๐Ÿ”ค Word of the day

Outpainting

n. a process by which the AI generates parts of the image that are outside its original frame. It can be used to fix up images in which the subject is off-centre, or when some detail (often the top of someone's head!) is cut off.

See a more visual representation of how outpainting works๐Ÿ‘‡

As shown in the example, this process can currently be done via DALLยทE or the AI canvas feature from Leonardo.ai.

See the detailed explanation of outpainting from InvokeAI.

๐Ÿ–ผ๏ธ Image of the day

An interesting find from todayโ€™s test, what is this person holding? Must be the smallest coffee cup as that is somehow totally covered by the obviously AI-created hand ๐Ÿคฃ However, I must say the overall atmosphere that is created here is still quite amazing.

Prompt: a photo of a person sitting in a crowded cafe drinking a coffee in the golden hour, shot with Nikon Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct --v 5
