🖌️ AI Art Tips Thursday #19: Blending descriptions for new images!
Blending descriptions of source images is a more controllable way to create a blended image.
💡 AI Art Tips for the Day
By popular demand, I am going to explore how a user can blend images by mixing descriptions of images.
Blending images using the /blend function, in my opinion, is quite an uncontrolled experience. You are not always sure what you are going to receive.
For instance, the following is what I did last when I blend the image of the Great Wave and the flower. I have tried different orders of the images, yet the results are quite similar.

So what if we want to control the blending a bit more?
Given Midjourney’s main capability of text-to-image, the other angle we can explore is to get the descriptions from both images and blend them to get the outcome you are looking for.
So how does that work?
It is actually quite easy. Just use /describe to get the description and pick the parts you want and mix them to generate a new image.
For today’s example, I have uploaded both images to Midjourney to get the description first.

From there, it is almost like you are picking up your building block for the image. Basically, I can pick the part I want to build up that description for the image.
To illustrate being able to control the result, let’s say I would like to see the flowers to be displayed in the style of the Great Wave, hence I have gone with the description:
a drawing of many different colors of flowers, in the style of toyo ito, depictions of inclement weather, 1860–1969, sopheap pich, blue and beige, hope gangloff, painted illustrations --v 5.2
And the following are the images I have got:

Obviously, you would need to try various combinations to see if you can get something closer to what you need. Nonetheless, I really enjoy the method of blending descriptions since it provides much more controllability. Plus, you can use more parameters as well.
So give it a try if you are curious about blending images beyond the simple /blend.

🖼️ Image of the day
The following is an example of an image that does not quite fit with the style I am looking for. However, I just really love this result 😍

Prompt: a drawing of many different colors of flowers n the style of mori kei, densely patterned imagery, depictions of inclement weather, dark cyan and light beige, ocean academia, tachisme, exuberant
That is it for the day!
Until I see you next time, stay awesome my friend!
