🖌️ AI Art Tips Thursday #14: Let's create a pattern!

Using the tile parameter to create amazing pattern

💡 AI Art Tips for the Day

If you would like to create some repeating pattern for a wall paper or packing paper, you should try the tile parameter within Midjourney.

By popular demand from last week’s vote, we will explore the tile parameter.

As usual, if you want to explore the official document from Midjourney about tile, check it out here. In short, using the tile parameter would create a seamless pattern.

Let’s take a look at some examples:

The pattern itself is interesting and it is hard to tell if the pattern would be seamless, i.e. when connected with a duplicate of itself to see if there are any visible gaps.

To check the seamless-ness, you can use this tool: Seamless Texture Checker.

Here is what happens when I put one generated image into this checker:

Pretty cool. Now you can get this printed on a large enough piece of paper so that you can decorate your wall or wrap your favourite gift to someone.

🔤 Word of the day

Rule of thirds

n. a guideline that photographers and artists often use to create balanced and interesting compositions in their work.

Imagine dividing a photo or image into 9 equal parts by drawing two equally-spaced horizontal lines and two equally-spaced vertical lines, much like you would see in a tic-tac-toe board.

The Rule of Thirds then suggests that the main subjects or elements of your image should be positioned along these lines, or at the points where they intersect. The idea is that if you place your subject off-centre, the photo or artwork tends to look more balanced and will naturally guide the viewer's eye through the image.

To check further explanation about this composition rule, check this Wikipedia.

Here is an AI art composed using the Rule of third 👇️

🖼️ Image of the day

As today is a Chinese traditional holiday, i.e. Dragon Boat Festival, my wife is suggesting to create an image about a Chinese mystical creature, called Pixiu. Check the result below 👇️

Feel free to explore more about this creature here if you are interested.

Prompt: a smiling and cute-looking Pixiu, i.e. a Chinese mythical creature, in Chinese water colour --v 5.1

That is it for the day!
