🖌️ AI Art Tips Thursday #12: Will it blend?
Blending allows you to mix multiple images for your next creation
💡 AI Art Tips for the Day
If you have mutliple images and you would like to see them combined together, Blending is the way to go.
By popular demand, we will explore blending multiple images today.
As usual, if you are keen to explore the definition from Midjourney, Check it out here. I must say, I just realised today that we can actually blend with more than two images and that is what I am going to test today as well.
If you remember last time when we talked about working with images, you would need to upload the images to get the URL of the images to add in as part of the prompt. Well, the process of using images for blending is way easier 👇️

To add more than 2 images, simply click the “+4 more” area to see the option to add more images or control the dimensions of the result.

One thing to mention is that you can’t dictate the version of midjourney for the blending function and also other parameter settings, so I am not sure which version is being used for such art generations.
You just need to drag and drop your files in and you are ready to push the button and let them blend.
First, let’s blend with 2 images:

The result is quite good, it capture the style of both images and mixed them quite well. It is also interesting to see that the order of the file upload does not image the result that matches.
Alright, let’s play with 3 images.

Well, not too bad, all the elements from the different images have been considered in this final art generation. Plus, it is clear that the order doesn’t matter that much given the results from the different orders look pretty much similar to me.
Cool, so in conclusion, this is what I found by playing with the blending feature
You can blend in with from 2 to 5 images and set the dimension of the output. However, the other parameter setting does not seem to work.
The order of the images uploaded does not impact the final art generation.
Try this in your next prompt
Instead of /Imagine, Just type /Blend in your discord input box and you should see the following window for you to interact with.

🔤 Word of the day
Pouring paint
n. is a creative art technique where you literally pour paint onto a canvas or other surface to create abstract designs.
Instead of using brushes, you mix different paint colours with a pouring medium to thin them out. Then, you layer the paints in a container and pour or tilt the mixture onto the canvas. This allows the colours to spread and interact naturally, creating unique patterns and effects. The result is a vibrant, fluid art piece that's different every time.
To check further explanation about this technique, check this Wikipedia.
I have always been fascinated with this style of painting as it looks so effortless and the result is usually quite colourful and somewhat quite natural as well. Here is an example of this technique if created by AI 👇️

Prompt: a painting that is created by fluid paints poured directly onto the surface and the canvas tilted to move the paint around --v 5.1
🖼️ Image of the day
To create the pouring paint example, I have to try to describe the process of generating that art as if I just say create pouring paint, this is what I get.

Prompt: a pouring paint with various bright colours --v 5.1
