11th issue: Are we getting Clippy 2.0? 📎

The build, the drag and more

🌯 Wrap for the week

A close look at all the main headlines in AI

How many Copilots are there from Microsofts at the moment? 🤔

Microsoft is waving its AI magic wand across the board at this year's Build event.

Here are the top takeaways:

1. Copilot's New Destination: The AI personal assistant, Copilot, is landing in Windows 11, living within the taskbar to assist in tasks like summarising, rewriting, and explaining text.

If you have used Bing chat within Edge, Microsoft is opening up the scope that AI is working from your browser to your entire operating system. Pretty impressive I must say. See the example below:

2. Microsoft 365 Plugs in: The Microsoft 365 Copilot also gets a plugin update. It can now support Teams messages extensions, Power Platform connectors, ChatGPT technology tools, and much more.

3. AI in the Edge: The 365 Copilot is edging its way into Microsoft's browser, using webpage content to assist users in various Microsoft 365 tasks. For instance, allow the users to draft an email when browsing the browser.

4. Terminal Talks: Windows Terminal receives a GitHub Copilot integration, bringing an AI-powered chatbot to the developers' playground. If you have your GitHub Copliot account, you can do your coding with Copliot in your terminal straightaway.

5. Bing and ChatGPT Sitting in a Tree: Bing becomes the default search engine for OpenAI's ChatGPT, giving users Bing-sourced citations.

Also, more ChatGPT plugins will be available in Bing as well. As someone who has created a site about plugins, I must say I am pretty excited about this development. 🤩

Now, I just can’t wait to see all these announcements come to life!

Move over Photoshop, we have DragGan now.

DragGAN, the Photoshop wannabe is here to make image manipulation as easy as pie.

A brainchild of Google, Max Planck Institute, and MIT, this user-friendly tool lets you drastically alter images by merely pointing and dragging. It’s like Dall-E and Midjourney had a tech baby but with better pose control. DragGAN lets you gape open a lion's mouth, turn a car at a whole new angle, or make Mount Everest look like a molehill. Don’t think that is possible, see the example below 👇️

Although this is only a demo for now, I can't wait to see this AI's baby steps turn into leaps and bounds. Who knew altering reality could be as easy as sliding into DMs? 😉

Other top AI headlines for the week

Adobe certainly doesn’t want to lose this fight in AI. It is going to use whatever is in its arsenal to make Adobe still relevant in this AI era.

I am not a heavy Photoshop user so I am not sure how big this is. Nonetheless, I am all for seeing companies taking the step to incorporate AI more naturally into their offerings.

This is another great example of how to integrate AI naturally into the product offering. I guess we are going to see more AI-generated ads in the future. Maybe more customisation at an individual level could come in as well? Imagine the ads you see in the future are different for each person, both interesting and creepy I guess.

We are one step closer to seeing a walking robot with an advanced level of AI incorporated into it. By the way, that is called Embodiment in AI.

Actually, there have been a lot of advances in AI embodiment lately:

🎬️ Guess that movie

Adding a bit of fun to your weekend reading, let’s guess the famous movie from the 10-emoji description created by ChatGPT:
